Vintage Thingie Thursday-Postcard of Betsy Ross Home

Suzanne @http://coloradolady.blogspot.com/is a our wonderful hostess for this weekly party. Go on over and check out all of the unique vintage items.

Since its the 4th of July this week, I have a postcard that my Mother-In-Law gave me several years ago. It was sent to her sister Ruth in July of 1926. I believe it was sent by a nephew.  He actually toured the home of Betsy Ross.  The card is difficult to read but I also am sending the address side.  The small lettering says "Betsy Ross House where the first American Flag was made, located off Arch near Third Street, Phildelphia, PA.Hope everyone has a fantastic holiday.

Outdoor Wednesday

Let's all join Susan @http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/for some beautiful, colorful shots today!
My garden is taking on some new color, had a few plants bloom this past week.Summer is definately here in Kansas, we mowed the lawn at 8:30 yesterday morning while the heat index was only 90.  By 4:00 it was 105.  I'd mow before then but I'd hate to wake the neighbors.

Have a wonderful day.

Blue Monday-New Books

Linking with Sally today @http://smilingsally.blogspot.com/ for Blue Monday.

Went to Borders Book Store this Saturday and found a couple of really neat books I'd like to share. This new summer edition of Gallery with hundreds of paper projects and mixed media. Lots of inspiration.
I've already started a project.

Are you an Elvis fan?  Well I grew up with listening and watching him. My hubby and I are big fans.  I saw this book and it has so many photos of the family that I've never seen.  So I picked it up too.

Have yourselves a WONDERFUL BLUE MONDAY.

Pink Saturday - Winner of Journal Announced

I am so happy to be participating in this wonderful party called "Pink Saturday".  After picking up my copy of "Artful Blogging",  I'm even more proud.  Beverly has certainly captured a special audience with this special blogging party.  Today I am happy to share with you @http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog.com.

I am celebrating my 100th post and last Saturday I featured a journal that I created for a give-away.  I'm happy to say that I had 30 bloggers who commented and wanted to be included in this give-away.

I prepared a special PINK  tablecloth, a PINK basket, PINK  garland to celebrate!!! I entered everyone's name on PINK paper.

My hubby drew the name.
AND THE WINNER IS!!!!!!

Congratulations Suzanne, I will be e-mailing you to get your mailing address-hope you enjoy using it as much as I did making it.

I have one picture to share today, I had a garage sale a couple of weeks ago and my granddaughters decided to have a Lemonade Stand too.  Sophie made a cute sign to advertise and they made cookies also.  They had so much fun, almost as much as the passing drivers (some who stopped to buy).Hope your weekend is just PINKY

Family Fridays-Dad and his brothers

Linking with Lori @ The Peterson Family for Family Friday.

I want to share a picture of a generation who lived a wonderful full life.  Was fantastic fathers, husbands, grandfathers, BROTHERS, uncles and the list could go on and on.  I plan to see each and everyone of these again because they were all christians.
This was taken in the early 1980's at a family reunion.   Left to right- Joe, Dad (Ralph) Brian, Floyd and Bill.
How I miss them, my Dad passed away at a young 69 and all of his brothers lived into their 90's.  They left us lots of wonderful memories and I honor that today.

Vintage Thingie Thursday - glass dishes

Today is the day to join Suzanne @http://coloradolady.blogspot.com/and show off all those vintage goodies.

I have had these glass pieces for quite a few years.  I really love this first dish, it is so interesting.  The dish is decorated with an egyptian motif.  There are pyramids,  palm trees and a  phinx etched on the glass.
If anyone has any knowledge about this pattern, I'd really like to know the maker, date of production--there are no markings anywhere on the piece.  I've had this dish probably about 30 years.

My next posting is a glass butter dish, I think this one is depression glass.I enjoy using this for company.
Hope you have a super Thursday.
